Job Description

The Construction Superintendent will be accountable for the entire construction project from mobilization to completion, by providing the knowledge, skill, and experience to run day-to-day operations on the job site. The Superintendent will ensure that the work is carried out safely, correctly, within budget, and on schedule.


Construction Superintendent Responsibilities

- Oversee entire construction project from mobilization to completion.

- Manage day-to-day operations on-site.

- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality standards.

- Ensure work is safe, accurate, within budget, and on schedule.


Construction Superintendent Duties

- Plan and direct labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors for high-quality results.

- Review contract drawings/specifications, addressing discrepancies with designers and Project Managers.

- Assist in selecting contractors for optimal job fit and pricing.

- Monitor construction progress and update Project Manager weekly.

- Inspect subcontractor work for quality and compliance with documents.

- Approve/dispute T&M sheets daily from subcontractors.

- Coordinate on-site utility services with utility company representatives.

- Expedite material/equipment orders for just-in-time inventory.

- Evaluate field personnel/subcontractor performance.

- Coordinate construction with tenant representatives to minimize operational impact.

- Manage tenant openings with Property Management.

- Obtain necessary Certificates of Occupancy/Compliance.

- Promote and ensure job site safety.


Commercial Superintendent Requirements

- Active driver's license.

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry.

- Required experience in commercial, new construction; preferred in retail construction.

- Willingness to travel within a 1-3 hour radius of Sarasota.

- Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and initiative.

- Strong professional communication skills across all organizational levels.
